Garden and Plants
The garden (see blog 're wilding - the nature of a garden' ) is now nearly 20 years old and is a sacred grove, home to birds, bats, reptiles and a huge range of insects. The ancient woodpile is home to an adder, the wildlife pond we created this year has contributed to a more diverse habitat. The herbs and wild flowers are host plants to many moths and butterflies.
I grow my own medicine sustainably, harvesting seeds and replanting perennial roots. It is a refuge and a haven for plants & animals ( including humans) and is cultivated on permaculture principles. The garden cabin is a small wooden house in the heart of the garden, and is a beautiful retreat for those seeking solitude, to write, make art , rest, and commune with nature.
